Built within the old Steamboat Laundry dating back to 1910, I knew when I walked into The Laundry that my camera and I would bond with this restaurant immediately.
The space is rustic with exposed brick and original woodwork to maintain the historic elements of what used to be. Unique details caught my eye, like the old washboards that were artfully placed on one of the walls and the vintage light bulbs throughout the bar. I was so excited to be there.
Rex Brice, the owner, has 5 successful restaurants located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Hanging out with him and his team during the shoot was so enjoyable. I only there for an hour and I could definitely sense the positive energy and passion for the restaurant & the food right away.
Mike’s family and I ate here the night following my shoot and we ate everything featured in this post and more… all truly delicious. The menu is considered sharable plates, so we doubled up on a lot since there were so many of us.
It was a laid back, yet festive evening and we were all raving about it being our best dinner in Steamboat. I can’t wait to go back again someday soon!
