I have the easiest, most delicious smoothie recipe for you today. This Strawberry Banana Smoothie is a combination of ingredients you’d expect and a couple that may surprise you.
Frozen vs. Fresh
For this recipe, I like to buy fresh strawberries and bananas and freeze them. It means I can buy a lot when they’re on sale and they won’t go bad within a couple days.
If you prefer to use non-frozen ingredients in your smoothie, you can add ice to cool it down and make it frothy. In fact, if you are looking for a creamier consistency, you can freeze almond milk in ice cube trays and use those in place of regular ice cubes. It will definitely make it creamier and less watery.
I also like to add the addition of peanut butter and a touch of vanilla. The peanut butter helps thicken the smoothie and the touch of vanilla is a subtle flavor boost.
